LITTLE MISS VINTAGE TRAVELER

Good morning everyone! I was a little bit absent for a couple of days but I'm back. Today I'm excited because it's Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures Tuesday. This time my team of creative people, my photographer Shanila, and my hair and makeup artist Fernanda really did an amazing job! They always do but I specially loooove today's shoot and I know you guys are gonna love it too. I feel very blessed by God because he has put in my life the best and most creative people to work with without whom I couldn't do this. For a very long time I worked by myself, I styled myself, did my own hair and makeup, took my own pictures, the works. In a way it was rewarding because it made me feel sufficient but it feels so much better to be part of a team than to be a loner. I still style myself but now I have two other creative minds working together with me.

Today's shoot was inspired by how elegant and sophisticated people dressed in past decades when they traveled. Traveling was quite an event and it required that you played the part. The outfit I'm wearing was a gift from my dad to my mom, he bought it for her at Harvey Nichols in London while on their honeymoon. The camera case belonged to my father, and the luggage belonged to my grandmothers, they traveled with them when they came to live to Guatemala years and years ago. This is undoubtedly a photo shoot filled with history which is really what makes it so special.

I give you LITTLE MISS VINTAGE TRAVELER.

C'SANTOS BLACK DESIRE

Do you know what color of stone is your favorite? Mine's have always been black and green. They could be black diamonds (I'm not a diamond girl I basically only like black diamonds) and emeralds or if semiprecious black and green onyx. Of course there are many other wonderful stones out there but black and green one's are my favorite.

Yesterday I paid C'Santos a visit just like I do every week The minute I set foot in there  I saw this beautiful pair of earrings that I just couldn't stop starring at, they're so gorgeous, not only that, their shape and size are flattering for any type of face.

Here's my pick of the week from C'Santos. Please try not to have a stroke when you see them.

WESTERN VRS CAMOUFLAGE OR BOTH

How versatile or how willing to try new crazy trends are you? Are you the more conservative type or are you a fashion wild one? or perhaps you are a fashion wild one trapped in a conservative body? Maybe it's time to free yourself from your own restraining order, fashion was made to express yourself and have fun!

Here are two trend proposals by famous WHO WHAT WEAR spaghetti westerns and camouflage. Which one are you most willing to try? I might go for the camouflage, I've never been too much of a western type except for cowboy boots but that's pretty much it. I'll try something later on and I'll show it to you. Maybe I'll even try a western meets camouflage meets neon kind of thing. What do you think?
Should I?

ORGANIC EXPERIENCE

On Friday I had my hair color done courtesy of SIMPLY ORGANIC. A couple of days before my organic experience I had a meeting with two lovely ladies behind SIMPLY ORGANIC in Guatemala to discuss some ideas regarding PR for this magnificent product. I said to them: I'm in desperate need to color my hair red again so why don't I try it and speak for myself about it. Needless to say on Friday I arrived all excited to Salon Estilos where Marianne was already waiting for me. We chose the right tone of red, I got comfy on my chair, and then Marianne applied some aromatherapy drops on my face and hands that had a citrusy scent and felt absolutely wonderful. After my hair wash I enjoyed a SIMPLY ORGANIC hair nourishing ritual followed by a scalp massage that felt heavenly. I couldn't have been any happier.

SIMPLY ORGANIC is a safer and healthier way to color and treat your hair. SIMPLY ORGANIC is free of ammonia, petrochemicals and other added fragrances. It's as good as any other regular product if not more, and it leaves your hair feeling healthy and looking shiny.

My hair is so intensely red that I think I have been scaring people inside elevators lol! Last thing they think they're gonna bump into inside an elevator is a 5"9 girl with really bright red hair lol! But I did gett a lot of compliments from other women at the salon and I love it, which at the end of the day is the most important thing.

SIMPLY ORGANIC is distributed in some of the best salons in Guatemala. Ask your hairstylist if they carry it and if they don't I highly recommend that you pay Salon Estilos a visit.

Thank you SIMPLY ORGANIC for my organic hair experience!!!

TREND TO TRY: BASEBALL CAPS

Fashion is simply ironic, one moment we think something is absolutely hideous and out of the question and the other suddenly out of the blue that same thing turns out to be THE hot must of the season. Admit it we've all gone thru this. For example baseball caps where something that only college girls wore or perhaps you only wore them whenever you went to see your favorite team play or when you had a really bad hair day and you wanted to hide from the world. Now since Byoncé and other style influencers like miss Dree Hemingway have been seen sporting them all over town with white lace dresses and silk midi skirts, girls all over are going crazy about them. Now they're calling it "Sporty Chic" but are we really gonna try this new trend? Am I? Are you? I've never worn a cap unless I was going running in the out, maybe I should give it a try. You know what, one of this days I might surprise you.

Just in case you where considering it I found some chic ways to do it. Now more than ever it's undeniable that street is fashion's number one influencer.

HOT ACCESSORY TREND: KNOTTED NEON ROPE

For a while now I've noticed that accessories designers have been using utilitarian materials such as rope for their most recent collections. Just the other day I was doing a research and came upon several websites that featured them. This morning I found neon rope (two very hot trends put together) necklaces and bracelets on Refinery29 (my go to place for the latest in fashion and beauty). While I think their both lovely I'm not sure if I would wear the necklaces, however I do like the bracelets and wouldn't mind wearing a couple, perhaps mixed up with a few spiked or studded friendship bracelets (which also seem to be very hot right now) for a pile on bracelets look. What do you think? Would you wear neon knotted rope accessories?

Interested in getting yourself a couple? Visit Refinery29 by clicking here. Or maybe if you're creative and handy enough you can make your own creations.

LITTLE MISS BOHEMIAN RED

On our first edition of "Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures" we decided (my team and I) to welcome you to this very exciting series with a Mademoiselle Red kind of look. Who is Mademoiselle Red? She is a classic, modern, and sophisticated woman who's not afraid to be who she is, a woman of her own.

Today Miss Red takes on a very different character, just like she does every single day when she wakes up, always without loosing herself and her own identity. Fashion is nothing but an extension of ourselves, a way thru which we can express our own individualistic, creative, romantic, dramatic, or classic personalities. That's the beauty of fashion, it's not about expensive labels (which of course we love because their beautiful) its about being able to be who you want to be.

In this edition of "Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures" I decided to go for a romantic bohemian kind of look. Bohemian style is never, never about pouring yourself into the clothes someone else thinks you should wear. Bohemian style is for free spirited people who please themselves instead of conforming. It suits individualistic, creative, and unconventional lifestyles. It's about feeling comfortable and always being ready for your next adventure.
